Why We Keep Coming Back to Hemp
Strong, breathable, low-input, and already at home in Nepali textile practice.
Hemp is one of the few fibres that gets better with age rather than merely surviving it. Blended with organic cotton at around 200 GSM, it gives us a fabric with enough body for outerwear and enough breathability for Kathmandu summers. It also grows with far less water and no pesticide load, and it has a long history in Nepali weaving — so sourcing it locally is not a compromise.
